From Crisis Through Correction

We know that visiting a chiropractor for the very first time may be an unknown experience. Many people have not grown up with the type of care received at a chiropractic clinic so your first visit could be quite different than what your used to in a standard medical office. Filling out our intake form, meeting our staff, and being introduced to a new type of medical table could become overwhelming.

That is why at New Wave Stress and Pain Relief our goal is to alleviate any unnecessary stress or tension and help you to feel comfortable and relaxed during your visit with our chiropractic doctor.

For this reason we have chosen to provide you with as much information as possible within the pages of this website section. The online intake forms are provided so you may fill them out at home where you are most comfortable. If you need assistance or have any question of any kind you may call us at our Hendersonville chiropractic office at 615-695-7711!

We look forward to meeting you and providing the very best Chiropractic Care possible.

PHASE 1:

CRISIS CARE – PAIN MANAGEMENT

Reduce Your Symptoms

Pain Management is the primary reason many patients go to to a chiropractor. For individuals in Crisis Care, the reduction of pain symptoms and the recovery of function without pain is the primary goal .

Many patients assume that the absence of pain indicates that they are healthy with no medical conditions to be concerned with. Unfortunately, pain level is not an accurate indicator of health. In fact, pain and other symptoms often only appear once a disease or medical condition has progressed to an advanced stage.

Pain Management

For example, consider a cavity in your tooth. Is the pain present when it first appears, or only after it has developed to a serious stage? What about a heart condition? Regardless of whether you are talking about cancer, heart disease, diabetes, stress or problems with the spine, pain is usually the last thing to appear. When patients first see us for chiropractic care, the first symptom to disappear is the pain which is good for the patient. Our concern is that root cause of the underlying condition may remain.  After we resolve the immediate crisis we can move to the next phase, remodeling or Corrective Care.

PHASE 2:

CORRECTIVE CARE

An Investment in Your Body

Corrective Chiropractic Care is one of the most advanced and important types of treatment and is usually seen as an investment that will get your body working at its best and prevent a lot of future problems. If all that the chiropractor does is to reduce the pain and fails to correct the underlying structural issue, the chances of the condition recurring are high. In order to prevent a rapid recurrence of symptoms and future complications, it is often necessary to continue chiropractic care even though your symptoms are gone.

Remodeling and Strengthening

In this phase, the goal is often structural and functional changes. Depending on your condition or functional capability, you may begin doing stretches or exercises at home or at the New Wave Corrective Chiropractic Care Center to help accelerate your the healing process. There is usually a period of remodeling and strengthening, followed by a period of maintaining these changes.

Occasional mild flare-ups in your symptoms may occur during this stage of your healing process, don’t let this discourage you as this is normal. Since your body has not yet fully healed, flare-ups are bound to occur during this phase. Depending on the severity of your condition or injury, and the length of time you have been suffering with it, this phase of healing may last a few months to a couple of years.

Once healing has occurred and the corrections have been maintained, the third and final phase, Wellness Care can begin.  In a perfect world, everyone would start chiropractic care in this phase and the chance of needing the first two phases would be a lot less.

PHASE 3:

WELLNESS CHIROPRACTIC CARE

Optimal Condition

Once your body has fully healed, regular wellness chiropractic care will help to ensure that your physical pain and lack of function do not return, while keeping your body in a state of optimal condition. Just like establishing a routine exercise program and eating healthy are habits that must be continued, it is a good idea to continue chiropractic care to keep everything working at your best. We can never remove all stress from life, but we can make sure your body can do its absolute best to adapt to that stress.

The Advantages of a Healthy Lifestyle

When you make chiropractic care a part of your lifestyle, you avoid many of the doctor visits and healthcare costs that other people go through.  Chiropractic patients use less drugs and have less hospital visits than non chiropractic patients, and they tend to be more active and healthy overall.  Research is currently underway to understand chiropractic and its effects on the many body systems, such as the immune system. We absolutely love getting everyone to Wellness Care through our advanced methods and techniques.  We envision a world where one day the majority of people will be wellness patients using chiropractic to stay healthy rather than crisis patients using chiropractic to get healthy.

Severe Pain

“I found New Wave Chiropractic from Yelp and have been visiting the practice periodically for nearly a year. Having been to chiropractors off-and-on for over 30 years all over the country, I’ve seen a lot of different styles and methodologies. And, I have to say that Dr. Paul is, hands down, the best chiropractor I have had the pleasure of working with. Dr. Paul takes a holistic approach to his patient’s health and wellbeing. In addition to working through the typical computer-desk related spine and neck issues, Dr Paul was also able to provide relief from a chronic eye problem that has plagued me for years. Any time my eye pain flairs up, I go visit Dr. Paul and I’m back to normal for weeks. The level of quality and professionalism provided by Dr. Paul and the good folks at New Wave Chiropractic is unsurpassed!”
